The pinnacle of technology in the late 70s for graphic artists and illustrators was the AirBrush. Badger introduced Air-Opaque and Air-Tex acrylic airbrush paints while I was at Pratt. Wonderful, well -behaved stuff. But the mechanics of compressors, valves, regulators, water traps, and keeping the damn things clean was.... to put it politely, challenging.

However, if I did this cartoon today, I suspect Technology would get a rather different treatment. See comment in ArtStuff.
